Growing up on Oʻahu, she spent almost all of her time outside—hiking mountain trails, surfing, building fairy houses, and mixing potions out of whatever she could find in the backyard. She loved the fairies so much she even has a tattoo to prove it. That early connection to the outdoors has stayed with her, and now she’s still most at home when surrounded by anything wild and growing. These days, she spends her free time climbing, hiking, birdwatching (she has a soft spot for Nuthatches and the Hawaiian ʻApapane), and slowly learning to identify every wildflower she comes across. She’s always up for a good conversation, especially when it involves swapping stories, learning from others, or just wondering out loud. She believes the outdoors is one of the best places to grow, reflect, and connect—with yourself, with other people, and with the world around you. She’s especially excited to spend the summer outside, learning from the kiddos and learning from the land!
