WHO: High School Kids!

WHEN: Summer and School year, see below

SUMMER INTERNS

Training Week: Summer Interns are invited to our staff training week June 13-18, 2022. If interns cannot make the entire week, we recommend they at least come for Tuesday and Wednesday. During this week you will get to know the other staff and learn about your specific roles for our wild weeks of camp.

Camp Weeks: Interns participate on a week-by-week basis. Each week of camp has its own theme and a unique group of kids who will only be at camp for that one week. Monday-Friday, 8:30-3:45, interns will get the chance to practice and develop the leadership and practical skills for running camps. This includes anything from leading large group games to starting fires on the beach, or leading a crafting activity of your own devising. Whether you are hoping to work for a summer camp or just want to come out and support the community, Summer Internships are a blast!

Apply: We can only accommodate a limited number of interns in each camp. The application will allow you to sate what weeks you are available as well as which themes are most interesting to you. We strive to place everyone in their top choice camp but often need to move people around to meet the needs of each weekly program. No matter which them or location you work, every camp is a wild ride with once in a summer opportunities.

Cost:

First year: If it is your first summer as a High School Intern there is a weekly cost of $15-75, sliding scale. This fee reflects the training you receive as a new leader in our programs. The sliding scale is a no questions asked self-determination.

Second Year: If you are a retuning intern there is no fee! Join us for two days of training before helping out where we need you most. This is a great opportunity to hone your skills as camp leader while having fun.

Third Year: Third year interns receive a $100 stipend for working a week of camp! Come help us where we need you most. This is a great chance to take a leading role at camp and earn a solid recommendation toward future opportunities. Third year interns may be eligible for only a single paid week depending on how many applicants we receive.

SCHOOL YEAR INTERNS

Field School: Our school year interns work at The Field School where kids 1-8th come out one day a week to adventure, learn, and practice earth skills. Field School meets Tuesday – Friday. While kids only come one day a week, they come every week of the school year allowing for long term learning and relationships.

Schedule: The school year is broken up into two semesters: Fall(September-December), and Spring (February-May). Interns commit to coming one day a week for the duration of the semester. During the semester Interns will learn about our unique style of programming as well as get opportunities to push their skills and comfort with games, story telling, teaching, and more.
