Justine Henninger (Any)

B.S. Environmental Studies, UVM (‘21)
First Aid, CPR, AED
Justine has been working with kids for over a decade as a mother’s helper, babysitter, camp counselor, and most recently within the education department at the ECHO Center for Lake Champlain. She is a dedicated caregiver, having always had a nurturing and playful spirit. Justine believes that witnessing the growth of an individual, regardless of their age, is a joy of life. She loves making others feel cared for and heard. She loves to speculate, wonder, reflect, and facilitate conversations. She knows a lot of good can come from connecting people through open conversations and listening. It is always her goal and delight to ignite the creativity that exists within all people, and to encourage the acceptance of one’s self. She has a knack for promoting people’s creativity as well as making a safe space for people to imagine and create openly.
Justine knows the outdoors is full of small miracles that often go unnoticed. She can often be found wandering outside, appreciating the small details within larger systems and forces of nature. Justine thinks immersing yourself fully in all nature has to offer is something that can put things into a new or different light. Many of Justine’s biggest growth moments have come from being outside and alone. Sitting, walking, and taking it all in.
Justine is a believer that she is learning just as much (if not more) from the youth as they are from her. She knows it will be extra special to learn more about the natural world from kiddos through open conversations, observations, quiet and loud moments, and play.
