Hand-made bowls
These bowls may be decorative, but are much happier being used. With proper care your bowl will last for generations!
FINISH: Each bowl is finished with two coats of food-safe, 100% pure tung oil. Like other “drying oils,” tung oil hardens during the curing process to form a water-resistant protective barrier (1-2 weeks for a partial cure, 1 month for full). The bowl will be fully cured by the time it’s in your hands!
CLEANING: Hand wash in warm water with mild soap. Rinse and dry immediately (do not leave standing in water). Do not put in dishwasher or microwave oven.
UPKEEP: Store in a cool, dry place. If bowl begins to feel dry, you may apply a thin coat of any drying oil; let cure for using again. Bowl may become fuzzy over time. Just sand with 400+ grit sandpaper and apply a thin coat of oil.
Sourcing wood
Each bowl is made from trees found in and around Burlington, VT. Wood is typically from storm damaged trees, drift wood, or other “salvaged” wood from trees. If you have a tree or wood that is special to you, please contact us about a custom order.
