Eliza Auchincloss (They/Them)

Preschool Staff

B.A. Anthropology Lewis & Clark College (‘20)
Wilderness First Aid, CPR

Eliza has spent the last six years of their life dedicated to cultivating community and adventure in many different ways. Going to college in the Pacific Northwest opened their eyes to the wonders of nature and the beautiful ways that education, friendship and community can be created and grown through the natural world. Eliza was involved in the outdoors program in college, where they got to lead hiking, kayaking, backpacking and XC Skiing trips around Oregon and Washington almost every weekend. Their summers were spent leading canoe and backpacking trips in Wisconsin and adventures in Yellowstone National Park. Eliza graduated with a degree in Anthropology, focusing on medicine and healing, which has given them breadth to see the world through an empathic and holistic way.

Eliza’s passion for Early Childhood Education comes from a love from looking at the world curiously and asking lots of questions. Young children provide them with such a zest and energy for life. It is one of their greatest joys to experience the world with children and be able to be a connection and teacher for them to ask, explore and engage. Eliza is excited to be a part of the nascent preschool at Crows Path, and they can’t wait to share and learn with everyone involved!

They can be found swimming in any refreshing body of water, biking around Burlington, cooking up a delicious meal with loved ones, dancing, and finding other ways to enjoy fresh air and community!
